(C4) snow in footwell

As I bought the car with a dead ECU due to a water leak
in the same area, I'm a bit concerned.  After replacing
the ECU, I cleaned the leaves and debris from under the
plastic plenum cover under the hood, and made sure the
drains flowed freely.

The question is: where/how would snow find its way into
the footwell?
