A6 rear shock replacement

I'm planning on replacing the rear shocks on my A6 on Saturday. This will be a first for me so first off wish me luck. 

I'm hoping that some of you might have some advice for me. Do I need to use some sort of lock fluid on the bolts when I put everything back together. Are torque settings a must on this job? Anyone have them if they are? How much of the rear wheel assembly do I need to pull apart?

Sorry for all of the basic questions, but like I said, this will be the first time I've ever done shocks or struts.
