Um, they wouldn't actually be interfering, just have the ability to
interfere due to a t-belt slip/snap etc..

I need to know.............why would it be interference at speed  and
not at 
idle?  Wouldn't that require that the valves, lifters and cams weren't 
staying in contact, and I can't see Audi or anyone designing this on 
purpose. Lots of noise and wear. Valve float is not good for power or 
longevity.
