Auto to manual swap 95 S6

Hi Audatious ones.
At last a 1995 S6 avant has come up for sale, but alas it's a slush-box!
So what issues/BTDT's would be involved in swapping the auto for a 
manual gearbox. Which gearboxes fit?
A nice 6 speed with diff lock?
Any other advice on these cars in general? (145,000 km)
