I just went through this about a month ago!

As ghetto as it seems this is what i did....soak the entire thing in pb 
blaster 2 or 3 times over the coarse of a weekend.  Removed the driver 
side wheel, the rubber cover for the steering rack/tie rod in the wheel 
well, w/ a bunch of extensions, a 1/4" socket and a 1/4" drill bit that 
was shortened i wacked it w/ a hammer, while friend laying on top of the 
motor guided it in.
