Machine shops disappearing, anyone else noticed

I need to get a bushing pressed tomorrow and just realized that we are down 
to one "job shop" machine shop in the area. I think I mentioned the decline of 
manufacturing in a recent post. I guess one thing leads to another. I suppose 
I could find a garage with a hydraulic press, but I find the trend disturbing. 
I recall that a local Home Depot "Associate" is an out of work nuclear 
welder, Delta tools are now made in Taiwan, IBM's PC operation has been sold to the 
Chinese. Scary. I had best perfect autarky, or, I'm going to be in trouble.
