Yup, that's exactly what I said.
To comment on "trick" gear oil. I've noticed an improvement in ease of
shifting, especially in winter, since I switched to Redline MT-90. I don't
know, nor really care, how many, if any, extra ponies made it to the wheels
as a result! I don't know what oil was in the 4kq's tranny before.
