Car started to miss, now won't start

Hi all,
 
Driving to work this morning and coming home tonight, my car started to
miss badly.  I made it home and thought it might be bad gas so tonight I
went to get dry gas.  The engine cranks but won't turn over.  I have
lights inside, radio, etc. and had the battery checked and it's ok.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?  I'm at a loss and would
really appreciate any advice you have to offer.
