Car started to miss, now won't start

Sorry for forgetting the year/model. I have a 1993 90S Quattro.

I'm not sure how to check the fuel pump but that' something I'd thought
about. When I turn the key I can hear the engine cranking but it just
doesn't turn over. I'm single and can't get a friend over to lend me a
hand this evening so I can't have anyone watch while it's being
"started"(or not started, haha).

Let the list know which year and model you have and you might get more
appropriate answers, Floyd.

You also might determine whether the fuel pump is pumping.

When you say it'll crank bunt won't turn over you mean the engine spins
with the starter but won't catch????

Regards, Kneale
