More on timing belts

Interesting to happen across this as I was about to type, but I'll go
ahead anyway:
1.) Is the 12V V6 (1995 A6Q) interference?
2.) If so, aside from mileage, should the timing belt be replaced
after, say, 10 years of fairly sedate driving, or can I wait until my
usual 75k interval (which in normal circumstances I think is quite
conservative).
3.) What's the usual price to have this done - either dealer or good
private, just let me know whcih it is so I can apply the appropriate
scaling factor!

Just my $0.02 - Gates has a very good reputation in industrial belts,
and Conti is probably Continental, whcih cant seem to make round tires,
nor ones in which the belts remain in alignment with one another. So
while I defer to Huw's experience, I would not value the "quality
German craftsmanship".
