The seal is a round foam product. I think I replaced the one in my now
unused 4kq with a similar-sized piece of what's called backer rod. It's a
foam material used to fill cracks before calking. Available from hardware
and building supply outlets. Usually in the cement patching area. I think
I used some contact cement. It worked for several years before I stopped
driving the car.
