to be better for low torque applications (such as those that would use a 3/8
drive) due to finer control at low torque, low tolerance settings, click
type's slight inconsistencies are more applicable to higher torque settings
(such as when you'd use the 1/2" drive). My 3/8's is beam, my 1/2's are both
click type (workshop) and bending beam, which is the one I keep in the car
(insensitive to changing temps).
