1st sign of trouble

'87 5ktq, approx 250k mi. Car is occasionally having
problems (the dreaded *crunch*) when trying to shift
into 1st. (No, I'm not going 60 mph when this
happens...) 

Clutch kit/t.o. bearing done at about 150k mi., and
all other gears work fine. Ideas? (yeah, use the
clutch!)
