werd one... LAC

I would look close a Boxster S set up. The transmissions used in the
Boxsters are version of the ZF units used in the B-platform Audi's from
1997. The Boxster S has a 6spd in it very similar to a S4 6spd.

Its using the standard s2 6 speed gear box.
The mechanism is easy to find for 5 speed models, but being a 6 speed a
little trickier and more expensive, hence I thought about the sequential
setup.

What gear box is being used? It was my understanding that the late
Golf/Jetta were using a cable shifter. It might be possible to use that
set
up with custom made cables. Porsche Boxter uses cable shifter as well.
