Considering a 2000 or 2001 A4 avant

Wallace,

If you want a nice car that's less expensive to maintain than an
A4, more reliable and probably as safe, look at a '95-98 C4 A6
wagon or '95-97 sedan.

We've put 60K on a '96 A6 (now has 110K) and its been our best
Audi. No significant problems, uncomplicated, easy to fix.

Feels smaller than my old 200T and reasonably sporty. Good room in
the back of the avant, plenty of room in the back seat for car
seats...much more than the A4.

Try it, you'll like it.

When my kids get cars, they're getting C4 6 cylinder cars. Should
last them through college and beyond.
