Royal Purple motor oil

Ever since Mobil went to the "Tri-Synthetic" and later formulations, Mobil 1
has not been a pure
ester based synthetic oil. This was shortly after Castrol won their suit by
the FTC re: what can be
advertised as "synthetic oil."
 I have not had any problems with any of the various formulations of Mobil
1, FWIW.
 Royal Purple is definitely better from the aspect that it is a pure
synthetic, like Redline. However, it is a case of diminishing returns-
depending on the cost, I don't know if it is truly worthwhile to use Royal
Purple. Also depends on what value you place on the better oil- I'd probably
run Royal Purple if I had a '66 Ferrari 275GTB/6, but not in my current
cars.
