If i richen the mixture a bit on the fuel metering
head, it'll run fine, but then the CO value is far too high when warm. (I
have access to an exhaust gas analyzer) I suspect the control pressure
regulator (warm-up-regulator) is bad, any comments on this before I go to
the junkyard and get one?

I would suggest you set the mixture back to were it was and hook up an
ammeter in line with the pressure regulator,. Start the car up cold
and watch the current it should start at a higher value(25-30mA or
more?) and settel back down to around 10mA as the car warms up. If the
current isn't higher when it's cold I would look at the temperature
sensors first. The pressure regulator rarely fails, I believe it's the
sensor in the bottom of the water neck on the head you need to look
at(what car is this again?) If that sensor is ok(check bentley for
specs), take a look at the thermotime switch in the back of the head.
It controls the cold start injector.
Good luck!
