Thanks again! I appreciate any paperwork you have for her! I'll try to get
the hood open this weekend and start cleaning it up to assess what's needed.
At least it's stored inside now. =)
Anyone have tricks to opening up a 4KQ hood with a broken latch or cable?
And while I'm at it, anybody have used parts they'd like to donate (cheap)
to the ressurection? I might need a door or two as there is corrosion right
around some door handles. Extra cheap rims? Suspension parts? (lots of rust
on those from sitting outside).
Once I assess how much $$$ is needed and the title comes, I plan on having
a fun 4KQ running shortly! Did someone mention a new toy winter driving
school and/or ice racing? =)
My girlfriend has been driving my '00 S4 daily. I showed up with the
not-so-great-looking, not-running 4KQ on the trailer. She scoffed and said
"I'm never driving THAT thing." I laughed, and said "Plan on having a BLAST
in this at winter driving school this year." Yes, the modern Quattro grips
far better, but I *always* clamor to borrow the keys of 4KQs owned by
students or fellow instructors. So easy to throttle steer on ice.
Best to all,
Mark Rosenkrantz
