89 200 shift bushing help

Probably easier to R&R the rod, but if it's play you're looking at, 
consider the ball stud itself.  I've seen the stud loose on the arm far 
more often than the plastic socket being worn.  Pretty inexpensive at 
the dealer, or you can clamp it in a vise and weld it tight to the arm. 
   As others have said, replace the other ball cups while you're down 
there.  John
