I believe Home Heating oil is diesel #1 or close to it. In the colder
climates #1 is usually sold or a blended version, so that the waxes don't
gel and clog the system. Kerosene can be added but not sure of the ratio. A
good oil additive is Rislone by the quart, replacing 1 qt of normal oil
product, at oil change or concentrate that can be added anytime, even if the
oil level is at the top mark.
