New boot, new hole?

Hey all-

I replaced the intake "waffle boot" on my 5ktq the other day with one I got from
Rod at The Parts Connection.  The new one has an extra bung for something:

Anybody know what it's for?  I've just got it plugged with a hex bolt for now. 
I assume it's for something my car doesn't have-- never hurts to check though.
