In response to several suggestions that the original poster was doing 
this somewhat tongue in cheek . . .

Well at least I'm in "good" company - our political leaders do this 
all the time. I really did like the suggestion of the car that would 
run on politician's BS, though - now THAT'S a useful contribution and 
definitely needs more research funding!
