A8 Stalling

Again check the codes with VAG-COM would help.
I had this problem too, and the computer was getting intermittent lean codes.
This pointed to a vacuum leak.
My car would run fine down the road, but would some times die when coming to a quick stop. Also it would studder with a  quick start.
There are three breather hoses on the back on the engine that can degrade and one on the front. The hoses are not cheap.

A sticking TorqueConverter has been rumored to cause this problem too.
