Subject: Re: cooling fan after run switch part number(s)
ETKA lists the 4kq cooling fan after run switch part # as 034 919 369 and describes it as a 90 degC switch. This is he switch mounted on the rear of the cylinder head near the battery.
The vendor sends me a part with # 443 959 481 in a bag with a label that says "switch thermo after-run 4k, 80, 90". ETKA lists this as a 50/40 degC switch for the 5k series. It appears this switch measures the coolant flowing to the heater core and provides a signal to the A/C controller.
The vendor proclaims ignorance and says their catalog liss the 443 959 481 switch as the 4kq after run fan switch.
Has ayone used the 443 switch as a replacement for the 034 switch? To me, they are completely different. The 034 swich is an "on/off", while the 443 switch has some hysteresis in it.
Comments?
