Normally functioning coolant systems operate at something like 15 psi.  A
good reservoir (used to say radiator) cap should release pressure beyond 15
or so psi.  So I can't see how a pressure sensor could give you a warning.  

I routinely look down the road, scan the gauges, look down the road, etc.
