If it's a brown 1983 3 position switch (OFF-ON1-ON2), then yes I know:
- 86N is the power feed, switched either by the ignition, or better, by
the parking lights (*).
- 31 is the ground
- 58a is the front fog lamps, (which are ON at both ON positions)
- 55s is the rear fog lamp (ON at ON2 only)
- 75h is the feed for the lighting bulb inside the switch.
(*): the reason for this is to have the fog lamps acts like real fog
lamps ! In fog conditions, or snow conditions, fog lamps are useful only
if the main low-beams are off. Then, the wide and low beam pattern from
the fog lamps can cut bellow your eye level, and not blind you. In
addition, you want to be seen from behind, that's why the parking lamps
are ON each time the fogs are.
In North-America, fog lamps are only cosmetic devices, because NHTSA and
Transport Canada mandates that low-beams to be ON when fog lamps are ON.
Totally useless, IMO.
