I second the motion. The California Blade removes the bulk of the water
very quickly and saves a lot of chamois ringing. I then follow immediately
with
a good chamois to the get the stuff the blade can't reach easily and those
inevitable drips. The speed the blade gives really helps to minimize those
nasty water spots. Maybe a leaf blower can do the same thing.
And just as Mark points out, using a clean tool on a clean car is a must
to avoid scratching no matter sponge, soap mitt, block of clay, towel,
chamois or squeegee. For example, if that block of clay ever hits the
ground, it ought not be put to paint again.
