Subject: Upper strut mounts (blue or green) for urQ, 4kq, 90q
Is there a brand of upper strut mounts (857 412 323B, blue or 8A0 412
323D, green) that are known to be tougher than the Topran branded units
I can get for 12$ but don't last more than 10 000 km ?
I don't mind the price, albeit not the 125$ Audi wants for its OEM blue
units.
My car has still the stock suspension, and I am on my 4th front set, and
2nd rear set.

Having just gone through this on my 4ksq, I will chime in.
Meyle makes a strut mount they claim is 30% stiffer than the stock unit. I purchased these and Meyle does use a stiffer rubber and they increase the rubber wall thickness. They are the same height as stock. The metal part is painted green, but it is a different green vs. stock Boge and other after market mounts.
The Meyle part number is 100 412 0004/HD
I bought mine from Scott at sjmautotechnik.com.
The part number on the bag was 8A0 412 323 DMY.
Cost was in the high $25-30US each.
