MPG 4000Q and now transmission Q:

My 4000Q has a Mc-1 in it.

Since there is now ~50 HP more than a stock JT, I've been wondering if MPG 
could be increased by the MC's ability to muscle a taller 5th gear.  Okay under 
boost it would use more fuel, I know..........

AFAIK: the tach turns about 4200 RPM at 80 MPH, my buddies scirroco did 3,100 
RPM @ 80 MPH.

Is there a way to crack the case and change the 5th gear only, to get better 
MPG and a higher top speed?

Or can one swap in a newer tranny with taller gearing?
