I started wondering what the point was when the story described him 
attaching the hose "in place" for the *second* time with zip ties.

They can sure seem like a nice, easy way to hold things in place 
(especially if there isn't much tension), but what was the definition of 
insanity again....?

I thought I was reading a runner-up entrant to the Darwin awards - 
perhaps even a team effort - when they started describing people opening 
the hood of a car with an underhood fire.  A hood that had just been 
buckled by an underhood explosion.  Hmmmmmmm.
