Unintended Acceleration - really happens

In tests, the brakes of a type 44 held over 900 HP of engine at bay, so
if you hit the brake pedal you should do alright, experienced or not
that's what (I hope) most people would do...but then again....

Many a V8Q driver has found himself with a stuck throttle (2 in my fleet
alone) with no permanent damage, physical anyway.  I do recall a post on
the V8Q list about a listers wife who cooked the brakes after driving it
a considerable distance with the throttle stuck open.  Then Audi went
ahead and recalled the defective Cruise Control bushings and the V8Q
became boring again.... ;-)

Should make for some attentive driving until you figure out exactly what
caused your throttle to bind....
