Except that it was proven (by C&D maybe?) that a 5kT-autobox at 60mph and 
WOT could be brought to a full stop without trouble with the normal brakes. 
Hell my ~500hp Q-car is easily retarded @ full boost by the stock brakes in 
3rd gear (BTDT, left foot braking at the track to keep the boost up).
