Unintended Acceleration - really happens

Actually I'll add that I've had my ~500hp Q-car stick at 3000rpm before on a
number of occasions. See the massive boost was blowing the idle valve open
so violently at shifts that it would get stuck wide open. The fix was to run
the inlet side of the idle valve to atmosphere (with a filter) and plug off
the port on the intake manilfold. Ahhh the beauty of EFI and no vaccum leak
worries!
Even when it did stick at 3000revs it was easy to keep the car at bay by
slowing it way down then going for 5th gear. It wouldn't get enough
time/revs built up to spool the turbo and the brakes were fine for getting
the car into a parking lot.
