Me too.
I have tried things like this, and the car stops like a stone when you
floor the brake pedal, with the throttle wide open. Sure, it makes
funny noises, and it usually ends up stalling the engine, but it works.
The hard part is making yourself really step hard on the brake pedal.
Keep in mind that (with this car), if the UA is due to a wide open
throttle, there is not much vacuum assist for the braking effort. After
the first couple-three pushes, you don't get anymore assist and things
get harder.
