new to list: Cabriolet question

Greetings. I am a new list subscriber and heard about this list from some
audi people on rennlist (Porsche mailing list). I was told this is the best
audi list on the net. Looking forward to discussing audi's here. OK, on to
my car: I just bought a 98 Audi Cabriolet and the top does not function. The
dash light blinks when you hit the button. I hear the slightest click noise
from the trunk when I hit the button, but no movement. What I have heard so
far about these, the wiring harness is known to fail, also that there are
several relays that go bad. How about the motor, does it last a long time,
or is known to fail as well?  Thanks in advance, and I look forward to
enjoying this audifans list.
