***** Just a Point of Information regarding violation points and insurance.
This is from a source deep inside the insurance underworld.
These items apply if you were not involved in an accident which was
reported.
I'm not sure what the procedure is if you get points over your limit.

Insurance companies are NOT sent violation information from any DOT office.
This costs money and the State is cheap.

Insurance companies DONT look up your DOT record when renewing your policy.
Less work to just renew automatically.

Insurance companies HAVE to pay to get a DOT report on a driver . .around $5
per report. State is money hungry all the time and they give you nothing for
free.

Insurance companies DO look up your DOT file if you make significant changes
in your policy. Somebody is manually handling your file already, so why not
look up the DOT file.

Insurance companies DO look up your DOT file if you confess your sins to
your insurance agent . . .he has to notify the insurance company by law .
.your rates may go up . .and the insurance agent gets an additional
commission . .hell yes he will tell all!!!!.

Therefore, if you get a speeding ticket, keep your mouth shut! And, dont
make any changes to your insurance policy for the next 3 years . .after
which your DOT sins are expunged . . and you are free to sin again..
