Hey, Kent, maybe you want to attach an addendum to your starter write-up by
noting that the wiring to starters on Audis frequently suffers insulator
failure that leads to wire failure, requiring replacement of the wires.

I had to cut one wire way up near the firewall to find solid stuff to
splice to for the wire to "terminal 50" in this case, which is my wife's
4kq. Other 4kq owners report having to take the new wire all the way to
the fusebox. My new-to-me 200q20v avant and my original 200q20v sedan
both needed about two feet of new wire here.
