**** Ahhhhh . .I was wondering about your nail comments in a previous post.
You have a misconception about my use of "positioning" nails. My two 2 x 8
wooden ramp 'gizmos' have the nails, not the floor! The short nails properly
position the ramps on the 'gizmo', and keeps the ramps from sliding off the
'gizmo'when the car rolls up.
When done with the ramps, I take them off the gizmo and hang them up on the
wall, alongside the gizmos.
Aligning the gizmo to the car wheels is simple because of the length (5ft).
Jam the front under the wheel - its easy to see if its centered on the tire.
And you eyeball the other end to the tire sides. Its like sighting a rifle.
