Probably, but you might compromise the gasket a bit.

If you can get someone to help you, installing it in one unit is way  
easier in then end. Installing the EM, Turbo, etc, after the head is  
in is a nightmare. Alternately, if you've got an engine hoist, or can  
borrow one, they work great for lowering a head, manifold, turbo  
assembly into place.
