The only way to proper clean electrical contacts is to use, duh, electrical
contact cleaner. These do the job right, leave no residue, and dry quickly.
An example is "Polywater FD".
http://www.polywater.com/typefd.html and it is safe with most plastics.
No affiliation with this company, etc, etc.
There are other companies out there.Google them.
