B3 90q - Bleed Coolant Info?

I know where the bleed port is on the return heater
hose.  How does it work?  I turned it with a screw
driver and it just turns freely (after an initial
"crusty" turn).  Do you just pull it out (with
appropriate vigor)? 

I'm guessing that the screwdriver slot is there to
help you turn the plug to loosen it from crusty
accumulations and then you can pull the plug out.

But....before I do anything bad to it, thought I would
ask.
