VAG: Issues with '00 Passat 4Motion-Drive Shaft

Still, messing with my Passat. 

Apparently, there is a bushing worked into the
propeller shaft(drive-shaft) that can not be replaced,
without replacing the entire drive-shaft. Can anyone
confirm this? Is there a source for rebuilt
drive-shafts? 

Also, was there a recall on the control arms for these
cars? I was just reading that there was on the B5
Audi's.
