Can't help you with the trunk access issue. (I've not
heard of a key code in the trunk.) But I'm pretty sure
that if you go to a locksmith accustomed to cutting
steel keys for cars, they can cut one from the VIN
if you supply proof of ownership. Unfortunately,
most locksmiths are not set up for this. I found
one by asking at the parts counter of my local BMW
dealership. "Who cuts keys for you?" Worked in
my case but I did already have a factory key blank.
Such should be available at your local Audi dealer.
