FRANKFURT -- Rupert Stadler is set to become the new chief executive of
Audi, a source familiar with matter said, adding a decision was likely on
Wednesday, Dec. 6.

"It is all pointing to Stadler," the source said, confirming a report in
German newspaper Frankfurt Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung published on Sunday,
Dec. 3.

Stadler, who is CFO at Audi, has long been considered the favorite for the
top job at the German carmaker.

Audi said it had no comment on the report.

If appointed by the supervisory board, which meets on Wednesday, Stadler
would replace Martin Winterkorn, who next year takes over as the new CEO at
Volkswagen group.
