operating temperature?

Jeremiah-

Simple answer- Thermostat- it's sticking open and not closing 
sufficiently for the coolant in the engine to heat to the 87Degrees C.

I have had mixed luck with replacement thermostats that are either 
aftermarket (Wahler) , or ones purchased from the dealer.

By mixed luck, I am getting only 1-2 years of life from them - the 
latest casualty is on my 90q- I purchased the thermostat from the 
dealer, and less than a year later (and now that its getting colder) 
I find that I will AGAIN have to replace it.

I plan on doing some root cause analysis after I replace it.
