There sometimes is.  At least on some aftermarket radiators, there is a 
little vent bolt thing in the top of the radiator that allows purging of 
air.

Also, in general, that system is not that hard to fill properly as long 
as it starts off pretty full and the heater is turned all the way to 
"hot" while first running and topping off (no hard to vent high points).
