shift knob question

Yeah, I bought a beautiful aluminum knob. The finish is superb and the
design was well thought out. But, alas, it got too hot in the summer
and too cold in the winter. It has been sitting on my desk for two
years. Maybe I'll slip it on for spring and fall use...
