Yes, the United States government spent a lot of money on space exploration.
Still does. The government of Germany, under the leadership of Hitler, spent
a lot of money on technology and racing before and during WWII. One cannot
tell either story without including where the money originated. It is not
sensationalizing to tell the complete story. It would, however, be changing
history to not tell the story fully.
