Ok, so I have a guy who wants an A8, 2005 or so. I look at auction
values...this car is worth $40-45k? Didn't that sucker cost 80 geeees?  To
hell with the A4 depreciation (the smaller cars of the marque always
depreciate the least...as far as European cars go)..look at the Audi saloon
loss!  2006 A8's, new body styles, mind you...are doing low 50's. This is a
car that is one or less year old taking a 30 thousand hit. OUCH. I can tell
you bigger depreciation stories (read: SL55 AMG's a couple years old,
CL600's, BMW 760Li's, S55's...etc)...there was a 2006 Rolls Phantom (I think
it was an 06, may have been 05) at the Manheim Penn exotic auction on
Thursday, and it did $220,000. Window sticker?  $340,000...yes, that's
right. If you have 340k to buy a Rolls, though...you could give a fork less
about loosing money...I guess:-)
