Geraint is correct, there is no thermo time switch on any MC engine.
The CSV is controlled entirely by the ECU which is why there is an
ECU output test for it. If there was a thermo time switch then why
have the CSV hooked to the ECU?
The component that you are looking at and assuming is a thermo time
switch is probably the multi function temp sensor which is similarly
bulky. The sensor you need to check is the one pin temp sender
screwed into the head near the #1 spark plug. See this excellent
reference: http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/trouble_shooting/10vcoolt.html
Be very very careful with the moronic layout of the Bentley manual.
Many times the component layout diagrams are mislabled as applying to
all turbo cars when in fact they are correct only for the very early
turbo cars (KT engine?), not the MC turbo motor.
